MAGANA Sound

It started with a friendship.

In 2024, MAGANA did its very first collaboration, with my friend Oscar Badibanga and his fashion brand. Oscar and I have known each other for years. We're both African (I'm Moroccan, he's Congolese), we both grew up between cultures, and we've both called Dubai home for a long time. When we started working together, we wanted the collaboration to go beyond the product. Music felt like the natural way to do it.

That's how the first MAGANA playlist was born: sounds from all over the world, picked by two friends, for anyone curious enough to press play. Some tracks you'll know. Most, we hope, you won't. Not yet.

Here's what we believe. When you take the time to discover another culture, through its people, its food or its music, you come back a little richer. And you're reminded of something simple: we're all human, sharing the same small rock, travelling through space for a very brief moment. We might as well spend it noticing what we have in common.

So pour yourself a coffee, or a mint tea. Turn it up. Let a song from somewhere you've never been find you.
