The TANJA Malachite has a brushed stainless steel case, 37 mm in diameter and 8 mm thick. It runs on a battery-powered Japanese MIYOTA quartz movement.

The dial is cut from natural malachite, a copper mineral that forms where water seeps through copper deposits deep in the earth. It builds up layer by layer over time, and each layer leaves a ring of green, from pale to almost black. Those rings, curves and bull’s-eyes are what make every malachite dial unique.

The most celebrated malachite came from Russia’s Ural Mountains, where it was used to line the Malachite Room of the Winter Palace in St Petersburg, now the Hermitage Museum. Those mines are long exhausted.

Today the finest malachite comes from the Katanga Copperbelt in the Democratic Republic of Congo – that’s where we source our Malachite from!

The watch is completed with an emerald green calfskin leather strap stamped with an alligator pattern.
